About the Client

Pastas, pizzas, Italian salads and wine- this little restaurant on the Pearl Road, Strongsville has gotten it all. This pizza restaurant in Strongsville, Ohio quickly transfers its clients from US to Venice, in almost no time.

Need

Italian Village is a popular destination for Pizza lovers in North-east Ohio and the restaurant itself offers an elaborate menu, weekly specials, loyalty programs, catering and a nice selection of wine. There are regular events too that happen at this place.

The need was to redesign the website so that it appears as fresh as the pizzas and pastas it carries. Mike, the owner of Italian Village needed a website that was inviting enough for users visit the restaurant. He also wanted it to be developed in such a manner that he himself can update it as and when he liked. For these content management needs, we used the Drupal CMS.

Solution

While redesigning the site, we laid a lot of emphasis on the information architecture. The Specials and the restaurant menu were to be made glaringly conspicuous. An assorted selection of some of the best pizza and pasta pictures were used to make users hungry for more. The main USP of the restaurant is “as good as Mama makes” and this statement was made the tagline of the website.

We wanted Mike to be at ease while making his delicious pizzas and hence the editable functionality was made so easy that even a web novice can make edits without any mistakes. Mike can now log into the admin section powered by Drupal and click on a menu item to change the description or pricing. There were no superfluous fields or statements that made editing tough. Mike can also seamlessly add new events (old ones automatically get deleted), add Weekly Specials and update the loyalty program offerings per his needs and requirements.

The result?

An inviting website that tells users instantly what the business does, where it is and why it should be visited. Well planned architecture makes it look remarkably easy to use without any hassles. The Drupal content management system makes it easy to edit and update at any time.
